I gotta get my comp cleaned out somehow. I'm not sure how to do it software, wise, dun wanna fuck with hardware. That way I don't break anything. Not sure how you would go about cleaning out this virus I got, but I have another HD you can install to then slave my original one, clean out the virus hopefully that way. You mentioned you could reset the BIOS as well, so I figured I would ask ya what it'll cost me. Hoping it won't be like... more than $100, but whatever. Long as it's less than $200 and you aren't a condescending prick to me. I shot up to bestbuy to see if it was cheap or whatever, not sure why now that I think about it. I got the wow you're an idiot because you have a virus treatment, and they want $200 . If it's easier to whipe it, then go that route, I couldn't seem to get it to format though. Possibly after ya reset the BIOS it will respond differently. Anyways, uhh.
$50 plus labor right? lol, can I pay you in magic cards? Kiddin, I got the cash in ze bank.
EDIT: Since the crier will ask, I can't boot off the disk ya gave me. _________________ BP's Video Game Wishlist!:

Consider it done, BP. We'll work something out if this is gonna be a huge project and you don't wanna break the bank. I'd be willing to do some sort of cash-trade mixture. We'll get in touch and work out the details. _________________

I was joking about the magic cards thing, but do you think it will be tough for you to do? I mean, I tried all the easy shit to try and format, and it isn't letting me. We got another hard drive to swap in, install XP then possibly scan the old hard drive for viruses after downloading AVG Free... then swapping it back to the master drive and formatting the "new" drive. If not, gotta just format. I was seriously considering doing the lazy approach and just buying that drive from my dad, then putting it in there. I'm kind of hoping the cost would be about the same as fixing it, and kind of thinking you'd be able to do it for less than what fucking best buy wants. I was not impressed with the service there. I mean, I know they can do it or whatever, but $200, and a condescending asshole at the front counter wasn't doing it for me . Man that guy was a punk....
Some sort of estimate would be cool, although I realize you don't exactly know what ya gotta do yet. Figured ya got some sort of idea by the description.
I'd rather pay in cash if that's ok with you. _________________ BP's Video Game Wishlist!:

Cash is fine.
As far as an estimate on the job, it all depends on how much data you want recovered from the drive. The more data you want, the more time it will take me, and the more it'll cost. My normal rate is $50 for the bench fee and $20 per hour, but as long as you don't want like, every single scrap of your HD recovered and you provide the hard drive and shit I should be able to do it for about $100-$150. _________________

Dude, I don't even care if ya whipe it. It's more like, if it's easy to save it, save it, otherwise what the fuck ever lol. All I had on there was music that I can redownload or rip from my cd collection.
I think it broke down to something like 30 gig used, 10 for XP, and 18 for music.
I'ma bring er up to the Pino tanight so you can grab it. _________________ BP's Video Game Wishlist!:

Alright, bring your install disc, and the other hard drive if you do want me to recover the shit. I can get some of your data back, sure it'd be easiest just to wipe your old drive, but then it's a pain in the ass for you to reinstall everything. Just let me know how you want it done. _________________

True but if you have any data you need recovered, even if it's infected, without the .exe that first executes the virus, there's pretty much no chance of infection.
Alright, you're the boss, if that's the case then it shouldn't take me long at all. Assuming I can get the reformat to take. Bring your PC, and the install disc, along with any driver discs I'll need. Also, if you have a flat panel monitor (which I think you do) and your keyboard and mouse I'd appreciate it if you could bring those along. That'll save you trouble with driver issues, and allow me to set it up completely seperate and work on it, instead of having to use my monitor and mouse and such. _________________

I don't believe in flat panel monitors. I can bring the mouse and keyboard though. If you want I can bring one of my monitors. _________________ BP's Video Game Wishlist!:

Mmkay, does it matter which one I bring? I got 2... I'd rather have the one I've been using since I can mount the speakers to the side. The other one is just a dell one I got fer $10 awhile back. Figured it couldn't hurt to have extra ones . _________________ BP's Video Game Wishlist!:

whichever's easier. I'd prefer the smaller one as it'd be easier to set up in my house, but it doesn't make much difference _________________

Mmkay, I'll just bring my extra one, after I make sure it still works. I didn't think it mattered at all which one ya used. Just wanted another monitor. LOL, I got one for sale if you want it , $25! The one I use is kinda fucked up because the screw on knobs are all screwy... hard to screw back in. Like I said though, it kicks more ass so I use it. It has all my stickers on it, and uhh, mounts the speakers to the side which is sweat. _________________ BP's Video Game Wishlist!:
