Sorry, I haven’t been giving you guys much information. Prepping for my finals has been leaving me short on free time.

I’ll be having my last final tomorrow morning. But being a physics final, there’s no telling how long it’ll take to finish it. So I think it would be best for everyone to start showing up around 5:00 or 6:00 (you guys decide).

As for the session itself, it’s mostly going to be the preludes, character creation and Changeling mechanics. So start thinking about what your characters were like before they were taken.

I'm thinking Swindell was some sort of farmer or something when he was taken. Basically, he ran his own farm with a few workers, not very many people. He had no children, only a wife who died at the ripe old age of 44 from some sort of degenerative disease. The doctors didn't really know exactly what it was, as it was unlike anything else they have ever seen. After Swindell comes out, he just assumes it was something the Fae cooked up. The Faerie that captured him was really deviant, and mostly secretive. He sold things at a pawn shop in his village. People knew him, and respected him... well, more like feared him. He had some power because of the contracts he had with most of the townsfolk. It was hard for anyone in the village to oppose him.

Anyways, after his wife died, he was seen less and less as time went by. About a year after her death, he was lured in by something magical. His master basically coaxed him in with promises of bringing his wife back. Still being in mourning he basically went along with what the guy told him. Not a great idea, but he felt he had no choice but. It seemed like a good idea, and anything that could possibly remove his sorrow was an excellent idea at that point.

The Faerie who captured him, who would never reveal his name to anyone, especially not Swindell, was called "the dealer" by townsfolk. They had a unique name for it, but that's what it would translate to in human speech. He spent 15 years in Arcadia doing various tasks at the shop, eventually he gained enough trust from his master that he was allowed to do more and more important tasks. Swindell was rather lucky in the grand scheme of things since his keeper was pretty leinant with him. He saw quite a few other changelings who suffered from a much worse fate. Swindell definitely took note of this, and would go out of his way to help a fellow changeling who just crossed back from Arcadia whenever he could, however he could. The conditions were atrocious and resembled the conditions of slaves during the late 17 and early 1800s.

On the 15th year anniversary (if you can call it that) of his capture, his keeper asked him if he would like to return to his homeland. He explained the entire situation to him and how he murdered his wife in order to capture Swindell himself without any problems of being caught. The keeper didn't use a fetch as it wasn't necessary. Nobody would have known Swindell was gone as he had no family. His employees just assumed he had died, or taken off. They all scattered eventually. As soon as the keeper finished his story, Swindell was furious, but not without his wits. He wanted to kill his keeper despite his decency in Arcadia. He murdered the love of his life, and enslaved him for 15 years. Fortunately he was able to hold his anger and dispise inside of himself, and accepted his freedom with a giant greatful smile. Of course, if he had the chance, he would kill his keeper on sight. He isn't a murderer at heart, but at some point, everyone turns into one. This was his breaking point.

Once he returned, he came back to his farm. The farm had been foreclosed on by the bank, and was then sold to another family. All of his assets were taken and given to the state. He had nothing except for the stuff in his small shed which he was living in at the time of the kidnapping. He walked into his dark shed filled with cobwebs, and dust. Everything was still intact. It seems the family bought the land, but they were not farmers. They hadn't ventured far enough to find this shed, and even if they did, it was fairly junky. Inside the shed there were the following items: a cot, a photo album containing pictures of his wife, some various books which he collected, his diary, some farming tools, an end table, 2 chairs, a small chest with his old wardrobe, a pen and blank paper, and $250.

All he knew was what the dealer had taught him. Even the pictures of his wife and his diary could not bring back the memories of his past life. He began to work odd night jobs to raise money, and eventually opened a small antiques shop. Over the course of 5 years he was able to expand his business, and attract some very important customers. Not the least of which was McFeardon. He began to deal in more than just old pieces of crap to tourists, and started dealing anything he could legally get his hands on. There were very few things that he wouldn't touch, but they are : weapons of any kind, people, illegal drugs, and contracts on peoples' lives. Everything else was fair game. He became familiar with everyone in the city of importance, or at least anyone who would have his company. As of current time he's built up a relatively lucrative business, prosperous enough to have people wanting to murder him and take his stuff. Especially the arcane items he might have.

He hires Lupul-Angro, a Gangrel and deputy of McFeardon's sheriff of the kindred community as his bodyguard. Since Lupul is a relatively aloof and easy-going creature, he fit in well with Swindell. Lupul's only request is that he be allowed to participate in the kindred community as a member of the Carthian Movement, as well as the group he founded for other Gangrel in the city. He basically said he wanted to still do his job to try and uphold justice in the community, but would accept the job for Swindell. He really had no choice anyway since McFeardon pretty much appointed him there, but the two had a verbal contract with eachother. The deal kind of stems from the treatment he got from his keeper in Arcadia. He helps Lupul out whenever he asks, and the two have sort of a symbiotic relationship.

Since Lupul is a relatively strong, and relatively feared kindred in the community (at least for his opponents) he prevents a lot of threats on Swindell's life on his reputation alone. There have been however 2 attempts, both of which were put down, that have been made on Swindell. One of which is said to have been done by the Belial's Brood, the other by the anti-kindred mafia group in Utica. Swindell was a large supplier of blood, as well as a potential threat to the mafia's business monopoly on Utica. They sent some guns, but they were finished off by Lupul, accompanied by a very timely cameo apperance of Shayquan. There hasn't been another attempt since then.

I'll have the rest soon enough. I got some ideas for this with the contract system and who owes what kind of favors or cash or whatever.

Had the first session of my new campaign and it can be summed up in one statement.

Only Bill showed up!

Now Tom said he wasn't going to be there because he had work. And Dan said he didn't want to play.

But what about everyone else? You guys still interested in playing it?

I'll take a lack of response as a no.

No, Dan said he couldn't come because he gets out of work at 4PM and that is when your game starts. Maybe if you actually told someone when your game was going to be ahead of time (instead of the day before, through Bill) someone other than Bill might have shown up.

And to remind you, because you probably forgot already, my game is on Friday nights now, at 7 PM so you are welcome to play in it.

I'm up for it, but I don't know what I'm doing Wednesdays for the rest of the school year.

To be fair he did actually say May 14th at 4 PM. I think he actually said that in response to you asking him. I'm thinkin if nobody else is playin, gonna just join the other session Evan. Not sure how that's gonna work out, but I can build a mage character if I need to.

When is the other session though?

So wait, if he said what time and day he was going to run this (which he did, my mistake, I thought he was kidding) why the constant questioning about when his game was going to be?

Because most of the asking when was coming from you, who obviously didn't see the Date/Time post...?

After Evan wrote the date / time he was running the game.

So I know you've been asked this 100 times Evan, but when is this game? You were saying there are two sessions, when are they? Now that classes are over I'm hoping you got some idea as to when you can run it.

'nuff said.

Are going to consider combining the two sessions, or just cutting one, or trying to fill this one? I have no problem just joining the other one long as it's not during something else. I can make a Mage or if you'll let me play either Lupul or Swindell instead.
