(When you walk into the base, you all notice that there are folders filled with paper scattered across the table in the main gathering area. Upon closer inspection, you notice each of them has one of your names on it. When you open the folders you that on one side there is a sheet that has what appears to be login information and on the other side of the folder there is a packet explaining the City of Utica's database and internet use policy. Behind the login information sheet is a Post-it note from Bill Short attached to a letter from Mr. Short. They read as follows:)

(Post-it note) I know we went over this before, but the Council wants a paper trail.

(actual letter) Due to the high rate of casualties suffered by beings on your missions, the City's Common Council wants you to keep a record of your activities. This provides accountability for the team as well as an alibi, should there be more shape-changers in our midst. These journals can be as personal or professional as you want. They will not be available to the public and will be password protected so that only you or I can read them. I will check these journals from time to time and the Council will see them only in extreme cases of emergency. They will never be made public for any reason. There will be a minimum of two journals per week expected, and should you refuse to write in these journals, your pay will be docked by 20% and you will be asked to serve a two day suspension.

Feel free to discuss your feelings on the current state of crime in the city, your thoughts on the city itself or your thoughts on this team and how it is being run.

Make these logs what you want them to be.

(If you decide to flip through the city's internet and database usage policy you see the same rhetoric you would expect from any other institution's computer use policy. No pornography, No file sharing sites, No terrorist sites, etc.

Should you bother to look, you also notice that the computers in the base now require you to login with your username and password that is printed on the first sheet you saw.)

don't think i have the attention span to blog OMGKEWL mister leader sir.
things to rig with explosives, bullets to load bang boom boom and such.
still, trying to keep a low profile with all this tutu nonsense afoot.
the motel has been very gracious to me -
bringing me food and whatnots so i can stay indoors, and survey.
turns out they'll do that if you leave Elaine, the maid, a 50 dollar tip.
I iz such a good bunny.

So this is Utica? Three weeks here and shit is still fucked up. The guys on my team are cool I guess, atleast that Wilheilm guy is neat, I don't know what the deal is with everyone else. The grey doctor guy is smart, but good gods is he serious, and "Rock"man what is his problem? I'm a fucking great doctor and I have no clue. That leaves Grey Gun Bunny or whatever his name is, he's probably the most normal, everyone else are tightasses, meh, maybe that rabbit guy will party up at my Pop's place one night, the ladies would love him, which means they'll love me more. Oh yeah, and that southern neo-Nazi is a well to do fellow for a racist, he seems like an okay guy though.

Well Mr. Short there you have it, my thoughts.

I talked top a potrential buyser for my house today. I alsdo did some shopoping for a new truck to modify. I went basky to base and kepot up with the news, then tried to write myt first report, then went out and bought a new keyboiard, and am now typing my sercond report befoer bed...

My current condition makes it vey diffigult to typre...

Got into town a little bit late this morning. Experienced some pretty rough winds going across the Atlantic. I'm debating whether I should quit my job or not. Thoughts being, I'll have more time to devote to helpin' out the crew. The pay should be enough once we get things rolling. Also gotta work on gettin' that damn air security clearance. Should be able to fly across the jet stream relatively safely without any hassle from Homeland Security if I get myself identified.

*talks to Mr. Short about that*

Anyhow, went to class, worked on all that stuff for awhile.

Headed up to the base, got my request from Wilhelm. Nabbed that communicator. Went on some rather uneventful patrols (for once), and then caught the next flight home. Think I'ma ask my alien buddies if they got any idea where this shit came from, because I can't really make heads or tails of it at all. Gonna have to take some images of it and all the measurements, send them to the "mothership". I figure Et All will want a look at it too, so that should come with me back into Utica tomorrow morning. I'll drop it off before I head over to teach.

*Contacts Et All, and lets them know about that.*

Alright so like I said, went up to the base and dropped off the doohicker. Still can't get my head around how that puppy works, but it'll come to me eventually. Headed up to classes, finished up the lectures and all that. I decided to ask my TA if he would be able to teach the rest of the class for me. He said he would, and I arranged the appropriate documents for him to get paid for it.... Actually I just gave him some extra cash on the side for it, but it worked out the same. Good thing to put on a resume for him I guess. I also put in my 2 week to the department head. Had to kind of lie about where I was going, but I told them I was "going home to be with my mother and father". I feel bad about lyin', but I did intend to visit this weekend so it's not a TOTAL lie I reckon.

All that got done relatively quickly, went up to the base to check in on the progress....

We have already been keeping a journal of the events here, and we now open it up to you.

We desired a password that would be easy to remember, so we used the decimal representation of the number e. e starts with 2.7182, so we took the 71st through 82nd places of e, which are of of course 303535475945. We then converted it into another form based on alphabetical place and character number on the ASCII table. 3 = c, 0 = 0, 35 = #, 35 = #, 47 = /, 5 = 5, 94 = ^, and 5 = 5. This should be secure enough for our purposes.

Today we continued to research the specimen retrieved from the creature in the basement of the Syndicate headquarters. A very fascinating specimen. We would very much like to speak with its creator Dr Tutu about it. The implications for organ transplants are astounding.

It is a shame we cannot easily extract a sample of Kirk Ares's flesh. We wish to aid in the research into his condition. Perhaps he will become seriously injured in an upcoming mission, allowing me to gather such a sample from the fresh wound.

Tomorrow we intend to review surveillance footage and team mate accounts of previous failures we have had whilst attempting to keep team members alive.

Couldn't sleep last night.
been having nightmares.

it's the same nightmare, or at least a variation on the same one
and it's been cropping up the past couple of weeks.

there's is a field.
it's a sunny day and i'm alone.
i call out to someone but no one answers.
i start to search, frantically for another person but the field just
goes on forever, not a soul in sight
Finally I'm just screaming.
then i wake up.
screaming.

haven't heard from any of the "team".
i think i received a garbled message from willhelm about property damage
and was REALLY excited until I realize it was about damage control.

the flamethrower works nice!! I took it out back and Elaine (the motel maid) helped me test it on some old sheets and garbage. Then we had mojito's!!
She's quite a woman, and has been a really good friend to me despite my appearance and whatnot. We've been talking about taking a roadtrip soon.

i need to start packing.
