Alright, so before we start this shindig, we need ourselves a world to play in. So far Paul suggested that we go for something more modern, and I have no problems with that. MM who is also playing has concurred with the notion. The thing I'd like to get is some details. Are you guys, vampires, super heroes, average joes (not the dodgeball team), military ops, etc. Post your ideas!
So far I was thinking of having a campaign set in the late 1800s early 1900s that runs in New York City. Think of the movie gangs of New York or something, I really thought it would be an interesting vampire setting, and to me it's fascinating in general. Something otherworldly could work as well.
Keep in mind that I'm not necessarily trying to run a game with V:TR rules, or any other system for that matter. I want to see how far I can get without any system at all, or at least we can use a system, but I don't want to be restricted by the rules of it. Think of realism as your rules instead. For instance, you shoot someone in the face with your pistol, and they take 3 lethal damage. The system says you can shoot back, but realistically you're probably going to fall to the ground, possibly pass out, and your vision, or hearing is going to suffer. Basically, it's going to take you some time to heal those wounds before you can just go, ok I shoot him back. That's kind of an extreme example, but try to keep realism in mind. That will be the "system" as far as I'm concerned. However, if you guys want to run a system, I can do that. Problem with that is I need to probably get the books for anything but Dungeons and Dragons or SLA. It would just be a decent excuse to finally download Adobe Reader though. |

| I'd like average joes, maybe something mafia or crime related, it'd be different and it could be fun. |

I told this to Bill in AIM, but I'll repost it here.
How about a dystopian future, where society has collapsed. There are still some high tech devises lying around, but no one knows how to make them anymore, and once they break, they're gone forever. The fall of technology saw the revival of magic. _________________ In response to your Lightning Blast, I'll eat this burrito.

| The distant future, the year 2000. The world is quite different now, there are no more elephants. There is also no more unethical treatment of elephants. The world is a much better place, finally robotic beings rule the earth! |

| But yeah, they all sound good. I did like the 1800's idea you had though. |

Not really. I haven't seen that hardly anywhere. I mean, maybe Water World but other than that not a whole lot. I guess I don't watch enough movies on the Sci Fi channel? |

Cliché is good. It means we all know what we're supposed to do. _________________ In response to your Lightning Blast, I'll eat this burrito.
