My character sold his soul for a new assault rifle. So, I don't really care if Mr. Slayer has mercy on it, technically it's his already.

Sounds like fun except for the blatant Killino's promotion above. The sooner that place spontaneously conbusts, the better. Don't suck Noobie into the realm of overpriced cards. That's like magic hazing or somethin.

No, magic hazing is what goes on at Hogwarts. Let's just say it involves a flying broomstick.

Yeah I guess. I get to draft for free though, since I win top 4 each week...so it's actually cheaper than BP drafts...w/ an average group of 18-24 people.

10-14 of which don't play in the draft. They do 8 man drafts. The fact is, it's like what, $16 to draft? That's almost twice as much, plus you have to promote a that place. Whether you win "every week" or not, you're still promoting a bullshit establishment. The last time I drafted there, the prize support was absolute shit. I think I got like $2 for joining, and then there was 4 DCI promo Juggernauts. Store credit to the top 2 was like $10 or something. Even if I win it wasn't really worth it. I couldn't even pay my own way in if I won! I'd get at most $6 or something, plus some $1 DCI foils. I mean, the packs there cost $12. You're only putting in at most $4 to the prize support. If I was to get 8 people, and have them put in $4 for prize support, I could provide nearly a dozen packs towards the prize. That's packs for 3 drafts to the winner.

Ahh, I can see your point, but give it a shot. There's a new guy running it, his name is paul, he's a judge. He's a pretty okay guy.

The draft is usually high (we had a bad showing on friday of only 13 people)

The drafts are typically two-three tables of 8. Then 4 or 5 rounds of best two out of three. Then finals.

I hope that's enough information for you to make a valid decision.

Last friday I took first place and got 17.50$ + my FNM foil Wonder. There was a small showing, the usual crowd nets a prize of 27.00$+

I think you might be judging on your poor experiences, as where I'm judging based on my good experiences.

$27 for 18 people eh? If BP was to charge $16 for a draft, he could provide $7 per person in prize support. That's 7 * 7 = $49. About half a box. If I had 18 people, that's 7 * 18 = $126. Well over an entire booster box. Granted Don has to make some profit here, (even though he's selling product anyways), he could still cut his prize support in half, and come out with $63. I probably wouldn't take half the prize support though. I'd be happy with selling a box and a half of product, and whatever else 18 people might buy on a given 4 hour night at my store. Not to mention all of the $126 in prize support is store credit. So essentially that's profit also.

At this point it would be too much annoyance to police a draft for actual money. Then I actually have to enforce some kind of rules and all that good stuff. Sort of takes most of the fun away from drafting. The point is, since it went by i guess, is that whether you're getting "free drafts" or not, the price is terrible. I realize you know, rent costs money, but you definately could sell packs for $3 a piece, and still do well. It's a shame that the only place to go and play is there, but that's the way it is right now. Hopefully some destined souls will open a real store, with decent prices, and a better place for CCG players, and gamers alike.
